Letters to the Editor

Group endorses Josh for his experience, committment and leadership

Thursday, February 08, 2007 - Updated: 10:00 AM EST

We are pleased to be endorsing Josh Lobel's candidacy for Arlington School Committee.

All of us have had the opportunity to work with Josh in the various organizations of which he is or has been an active participant, such as Stand for Children, Schools are a Priority in our Town (SPOT), the Bishop Science Committee, the District Wide Technology Committee, the Superintendent's 21st Century Study Group, as well as numerous local and statewide political campaigns.

Josh brings his work down to the personal level as well — he has been the soccer coach for two in-town teams, organized databases for the Ottoson and Bishop phone directories, motivated volunteers for various in-school projects, as well as posted detailed School Committee minutes online.

We know that once elected Josh will hit the ground running. We have witnessed Josh in action and know that he has a vision for the Arlington schools that includes the creation of a fair, equitable and adequate budget, using technology throughout the school system to improve learning and efficiency and a desire to improve the town/school relationship.

Josh is a compassionate listener who will help to lead our School Committee and school district into the 21st century.

We hope that you will join us in casting a vote on Saturday, April 14 for our friend and neighbor, Josh Lobel.
