Josh Lobel for School Committee

My background:

I have a BA in Psychology from Yale.

I have worked in the television industry (for NOVA and Evening at Pops),

I work in the field of computers (which I've done for the last twenty years), specializing in data mining and reporting. One of the thrusts of education today is collecting and analyzing data about how our schools are performing. My job involves doing that for many varied organizations.

I am currently the Manager of Training and Education for a small company, Creative Computing, Inc., that provides consulting and training services to a wide variety of clients, both public and private.

I have a strong interest in helping people to use technology to help them advance their home and work activities. I also know that technology is a tool. I love gadgets but know that a ball can provide as much satisfaction as a computer.

My family:

I am married and have two children in the Arlington schools – my daughter is in 9th grade at Arlington High, and my son is in 6th grade at Ottoson. Both of my children went to the Bishop elementary school.

My wife, Laura Wiener, works for the Town of Arlington as the Director of Housing.

They all make me very proud. I sincerely hope that being a School Committee member will enhance their lives and mine, and that there will be time for us to share this adventure together.
